iDwala was engaged to deliver a detailed compliant design for two non-compliant multi-purpose courts at Lockington Recreational Reserve for Campaspe Shire Council. The design included high-level LED sports lighting and ensured compliance with the standards for tennis, netball, and basketball. Comprehensive fencing and drainage solutions were also incorporated into the design documentation.

A key challenge was harmonising the new court surfaces with the existing surroundings, including a Pavilion on one side and a storage shed with a veranda on the other. To maintain compliance for netball, the design featured two uniquely engineered 6-meter outreach basketball towers that can swivel to the side as needed to ensure compliance remains for the netball courts.

The design also provided compliant DDA access, connecting the Football Pavilion to the courts and the Tennis Club Pavilion. Additionally, a new shelter was installed for the multi-purpose courts, along with a playground to enhance the local facility and support the new courts.

As a result, the Lockington community now enjoys an expanded facility capable of hosting netball, basketball, and tennis, fostering increased physical activity in a safe, comfortable, and secure environment.
