Pepi’s Land is a 25-hectare parcel of land in Emerald located south of Puffing Billy Railway and was home to four non-compliant netball courts that required some layout rectification and resurfacing works.

iDwala was engaged by Cardinia Shire Council to oversee the resurfacing and layout changes of the existing asphalt emulsion courts that were no longer serving their purpose and were being prepared for the installation of a new acrylic sports coating of Australian-made Laykold Advantage. The redesign was undertaken to improve the playability and ensure the courts were Netball Victoria compliant.

As part of the scope of works, the existing bituminous emulsion layer was removed and all of the existing netball posts were repositioned to help achieve court alignment and compliance. The courts were ground back for uniformity, high pressure washed, all low-lying areas identified and levelled ahead of the new acrylic surfacing being installed using a dark silver (charcoal) colour with black surrounds.

The netball courts have come up spectacularly with Council and community groups expressing delight to iDwala about the final outcome. We are so delighted to see these courts breathe new life to support the Emerald Football Netball Club and community moving forward.

When the rest of the redevelopments are complete, the whole facility will include not just the four new Netball Victoria compliant courts, but a pavilion, playground, open space walking and cycling tracks, along with a car park the community can enjoy for many years to come.
