Moira Shire Council in partnership with the Strathmerton Football Netball Club committed to the construction of two brand new, outdoor, dual-purpose courts, engaging iDwala – the Community Sports Facility Specialist, to build and install the new courts that would be line marked for both tennis and netball.
The project was a wonderful collaboration between the Moira Shire Council, Strathmerton Football Netball Club and the Strathmerton Tennis Club with the new courts being built by iDwala at the location of the tennis club’s two existing grass courts. With the recent amalgamation of the football and netball clubs, the new courts would provide easy access for spectators and members of Strathmerton Football Netball Club to enjoy easy access to both football and netball games, as well as providing a modern tennis facility to be enjoyed by the members of the tennis club. A true multisport facility to be shared and enjoyed by the whole community!
The new blue, two-tone courts were surfaced using Australian made Podium Surfacing with the help of the expert team at Total Sport and Floor, making them compliant to both Tennis VIC and Netball VIC competition standards. They were built in time for the 2022 Picola District Football Netball League season and were an immediate success with the Strathmerton community and will surely become a wonderful asset to Council and the community for many years to come.
